Customer Reviews

If you're looking for comfort food elevated to an art form, The Melt Down absolutely delivers. This locally owned gem specializes in grilled cheese sandwiches--but don't let the simplicity of that fool you. These are next-level creations crafted with care, creativity, and serious flavor. I ordered the Italian Grilled Cheese, loaded with mozzarella, Italian sausage, and pepperoni--and it was nothing short of amazing. The bread was perfectly toasted with that golden, buttery crunch, while the inside was a rich, melty masterpiece. The sausage and pepperoni brought just the right amount of savory depth, and the mozzarella tied everything together with that classic stretch we all love. It felt indulgent in the best possible way--comforting, flavorful, and incredibly satisfying. And then there was dessert. I went with the homemade lemon meringue pie, and wow. Bright, tangy lemon filling balanced perfectly with a light, fluffy meringue topping. You can absolutely taste that it's made from scratch. It was fresh, vibrant, and the perfect way to finish the meal. Beyond the food, the service truly stood out. The staff was kind, welcoming, and genuinely refreshing--attentive without being overbearing. You can tell they care about the experience just as much as the menu. The space itself is beautifully designed, warm, and inviting. It has that cozy, community-rooted charm that makes you want to linger a little longer. From the thoughtful decor to the comfortable seating, everything feels intentional. Overall, The Melt Down is a fantastic dining experience--great food, delicious homemade desserts, outstanding service, and a strong sense of local pride. I'll absolutely be back. Highly recommend!

This is such a GREAT spot to eat, socialize, and just enjoy the atmosphere. My fiancee and I use to live within just a few minutes of the Meltdown, but moved out of the area a couple years ago. We follow the Facebook page still and just couldn't resist taking a trip to our old favorite spot after seeing the new cheesecakes and other specials that they are offering this week! I got the special (Rodeo Burger Grilled Cheese) and my fiancee stuck with the Classic Grilled Cheese with a side of tomato soup. We also got an appetizer of poutine, which is unfortunately not pictured because it was eaten too quickly! Our server, Amy, was super polite and provided quick service, constantly checking in on us despite it being so busy when we arrived. The owner, Diane, politely greeted us when we arrived and checked on us numerous times as well. Everything was well prepared and our dessert was perfect as well! We definitely miss living so close to the Meltdown, but will make an effort to return in the near future!

Great spot for comfort food! Drove by a couple of times and it just looks like a familiar spot, as in somewhere where you could hang out with friends on the patio. Wanted soup so we stopped by. Service was good, food was good. Ordered the soup flight and although they were all delicious (the corn chowder, tomato soup, and cheddar ale soup), all of them were surprisingly thin... not what you would expect especially from the cheddar ale and chowder. I'm a sucker for French onion and that soup was good. Brie fig and apple sandwich was excellent and I'm glad we ordered one to share because it was VERY rich. Love how the owners are also very active with social media and leveraging it well!

This is a niche' restaurant dialed in! The crisp on my grilled cheese was perfect. The "pull" on my cheese was amazingly gooey. I had the Montreal smoked meat grilled cheese; the menu said rye bread pretty sure I got country white - but still delicious! The French fries were good too. I also selected a beer from an wide selection of draft tap. I search places to eat by "dog friendly" and the interaction with me and Delta makes the experience. 3 out 4 staffers interacted with were kind to my dog. The odd one out wasn't mean - but clearly not a dog person. If traveling Interstate 89 this place is 100% worth the short trip off the ramp.

Everything was SO spot on and delicious. I'm a chef and food snob and I rarely enjoy going out to eat because it's never as good as I was hoping but this place was better than I could've ever hoped for.

We visited The Meltdown tonight for the first time and it is absolutely a place worth going out of your way to find. Tucked just enough off the main path, it feels like a true local gem. My son and I had a wonderful experience. The staff was accommodating, knowledgeable, kind, and genuinely happy. Brian was our server and he was so great and incredibly sweet. He really made my son feel comfortable and happy, which means a lot. My son is autistic and it can sometimes be hard to find a place where he feels balanced with food, but he ate everything and truly enjoyed himself. The music was the perfect vibe, the kind that has you quietly singing along and instantly feeling comfortable. The food was tremendous. Flavorful, satisfying, and impressively fast. Diane, the owner, deserves real credit. She has built something special. Her team clearly cares about her and the business, and she makes everyone feel welcomed and at home. We will definitely be back many times and only wish we had found The Meltdown sooner.
